About Allie
I first joined MYL in 2014 as an Ambassador, following in the footsteps of my father, who was part of the original group that helped found MYL. After years of hearing about the program’s impact while growing up, I was eager to experience it firsthand. The seminar proved transformational, and I knew immediately that I wanted to stay connected to the organization. Since then, I have returned as a JC, AC, and SF, and now proudly serve as a member of the MYL Board. I graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and have since earned my master’s in School Administration. I currently live in Old Orchard Beach and teach first grade in Saco, Maine. Outside the classroom, I love spending time with family and friends, doing Jazzercise, and adventuring with my Maltipoo, Mabel.

What does MYL mean to you? Why join the board?

Maine Youth Leadership is truly transformational. It's an experience that’s difficult to put into words. It’s a place where people feel safe to be themselves, free from judgment, and where strangers become family in just a few short days. Each year, MYL recharges me and reconnects me with my purpose. It’s a space where youth can lean into discomfort, be vulnerable, and show up in ways our world needs more of. They trust the process, trust each other, and remind me how powerful it is to be authentic, present, and to create a no-judgment zone for others. I leave every seminar with a full heart, a recharged spirit, and deep gratitude for this incredible organization.
