About Luke
Luke first attended MYL in 2017, and has returned ever since. He has enjoyed attending every seminar since, holding a variety of volunteer positions. Following his time in high school, he attend college and obtained his undergraduate degree in engineering. He now lives in New Hampshire (though he's only a stones throw away from Maine) and works as a sales engineer in the tech hardware industry.
What does MYL mean to you? Why join the board?
MYL taught me several skills and lessons while I was a young adult. However, I think that most of these are rooted in the importance of not judging people around you. I learned that it is critical to keep an open mind and to build a community that supports a variety of thoughts, ideas, and individuals. By making people feel comfortable with who they are and the opinions they have, you can create powerful spaces where people can share, discuss, and learn. For this reason, I joined the MYL BOD, so that more young adults realize the importance of this too.
What do you like to do outside of MYL?
Hiking
Which unconventional animal do you wish you could have as a pet?
I would like to go to Banff National Park in Canada. This park offers incredible hikes and views which are jaw-dropping in photographs. I would love to explore the park in person.

What is your favorite Maine thing?
Chocolate
