Maria NeCastro Greene, Secretary
Maria went to MYL as an ambassador representing Machias Memorial High School in 2008. She loved MYL so much that she went back as a JC in 2009 and 2010 then was an AC (for one year) while she was in college! Maria got involved with the board when her employer, Acadia Insurance, gave a charitable donation to MYL in 2016 and she met with some of MYL’s board members. She has Tom Renehan to thank for inviting her to attend a board meeting and nominating her to join. She attended the seminar as a Senior Facilitator in 2019 and notes that it was one of her most fulfilling experiences to date. Maria is currently the Board Secretary and serves on the PR/Marketing and the Alumni/Regional Seminar committees. Maria is so thankful for MYL and loves that she can continue to help this organization as it grows.
Maria currently lives in Saco, Maine with her husband, Jordan and their cat, Stevie. They moved from Scarborough, Maine after buying their first home together in early 2021 and they really love everything that Southern Maine has to offer. Maria grew up in Machias, Maine where she attended Machias Memorial High School (class of 2010) and then moved to Orono to attend the University of Maine (class of 2014). She studied Journalism and Psychology while she was in college, so naturally she now works in the insurance industry (haha). Maria, a Rating Supervisor, has worked for Acadia Insurance since 2014 and she loves the positive change that her employer makes in New England and New York communities. Maria is an active member of its Community Connections Committee that helps to give back to great local organizations and charities.
In her free time she loves trying out new crafts, watching movies, cooking, experiencing new restaurants, and going for walks (sidewalk, beach, forest - you name it, she’s there)!
