Junior Counselor (JC)

JC Qualifying Events & Activities (points based system)

  • Fundraising: Includes secured donations (can’t be from parents, school or own pocket). Donations should be provided by the first day of seminar, you do not need these in hand when you apply. Donations can also consist of in-kind gift cards (Hannaford, Wal-Mart, Shaws, Staples, Target etc. to buy supplies for seminar).

    • $50-99 = 20pts

    • $100-149 = 50pts

    • $150+ = 70pts

  • Volunteer hours

    • 100+ hours = 70pts

    • 100 hours = 60pts

    • 76-99 hours = 50pts

    • 50-75 hours = 25pts

  • Plan a fundraiser event for MYL = 20pts

  • Promoted MYL Seminar through school = 10pts

  • Spoke/speaking with a cooperating organization = 20pts

  • Plan an alumni event = 10pts

  • Attended an alumni event = 5pts

  • Wrote article for the web/newsletter = 10pts

  • Assisted in making calls to schools to follow up on nominations/paperwork = 15pts

  • Have been a point person/organizer of a

    “MYL Coffee Hour”=20pts

  • Bring donations as outlined on the application= 15pts

  • Are a member of the MYL Youth Advisory Board= 70pts

  • Filled out an Alumni Spotlight=15pts

  • Shared MYL Content on Social Media=5pts

  • Follow MYL on Social Media= 5pts

  • Submit a video (1 minute or shorter) regarding what MYL means to you = 15pts

Alumni Consultant (AC)

AC Qualifying Events (must complete 3 or more)

  1. Participate in Community Service (please provide a brief description of the activities you performed and how many hours your participated)
  2. Secure Donations for MYL
    Play an active role in recruitment for ambassadors
  3. Organize/volunteer at alumni eventsBring donations as outlined on the AC application
  4. Assist in making calls to schools to follow up on nominations/paperwork (organized by Jim Cox- follow the MYL Alumni Facebook page to see when he needs help)
  5. Submit a short video (1 minute of under) to Tracy.Laverriere@gmail.com regarding what MYL means to you.
  6. Are a member of the MYL Youth Advisory Board
Senior Facilitators (SF)

The role of the Senior Facilitator within the Maine Youth Leadership organization is integral in many ways. They serve as mentors to the Ambassadors as well as the JCs, while also acting as the bridge for the Ambassadors and JCs to building a strong and active Alumnus.
